Our take

Berkey systems are gravity-fed stainless steel containers with replaceable Black Berkey filter elements. The filter element is the long-lifespan workhorse — 6,000 gallons per pair. Independent testing covers many heavy metals, pharmaceuticals, and some PFAS reduction. Note: Berkey publishes its own testing rather than holding NSF P473, so we cite their published lab reports rather than NSF certification.
