Medical & health disclaimer

VettedClean provides consumer product editorial and informational content about household products, water filtration, and cookware materials. This content is not medical advice.

What we do

VettedClean is an information aggregator covering cookware and water filtration products. We report on materials, manufacturing processes, third-party certifications (NSF, EWG Verified, Made Safe, etc.), government standards (EPA, FDA, CDC published data), and findings from peer-reviewed research. We do not test, own, or use the products we cover.

What we do not do

  • We do not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment recommendations.
  • We do not make health claims about products. We never claim a product will "treat, cure, diagnose, or prevent" any disease.
  • We are not healthcare providers, medical professionals, toxicologists, or environmental scientists.
  • We do not perform independent laboratory testing for contaminants. When we cite contaminant data, it comes from published sources (EPA, CDC, FDA, NSF, peer-reviewed journals).

Contaminant information

Our coverage of water contaminants (lead, PFAS, arsenic, chromium-6, etc.) and cookware materials (PFOA, PTFE, cadmium, nickel, etc.) is informational. It is based on data published by the EPA, CDC, FDA, state health departments, and academic researchers. This information is not a health assessment of your specific situation.

Contaminant levels, health effects, and regulatory standards are complex and evolving. Our articles represent our best understanding at the time of publication, but they are not a substitute for professional evaluation.

When to consult a professional

  • Health concerns about water contaminants: Contact your local water utility for your Consumer Confidence Report, or hire a certified laboratory to test your water. If you have health symptoms, see a doctor.
  • Lead exposure concerns: Contact your healthcare provider. For children, ask about blood lead level testing.
  • Material sensitivities: If you have a nickel allergy, chemical sensitivity, or other condition that may be affected by cookware materials, consult your doctor before making purchasing decisions based on our content.
  • Water quality testing: For accurate results, use a state-certified laboratory. The EPA maintains a list of certified labs by state.

Product safety

We report manufacturer claims and third-party certifications as accurately as possible, but we cannot guarantee that any product is safe for your specific circumstances. Certifications change, formulations change, and manufacturing processes change. Always verify current safety claims directly with the manufacturer or the certifying organization.

FDA-safe language commitment

VettedClean follows strict editorial standards around health language. We do not use terms like "clinically proven," "scientifically proven," "detoxifies your body," "heals," or "therapeutic" in our editorial content. When reporting on research, we use qualified language: "research suggests," "according to [source]," "designed to reduce [contaminant] per [standard]."

Not a substitute for professional advice

Nothing on VettedClean.com is intended as a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Never disregard professional medical advice or delay seeking it because of something you read on this site.
