Editorial policy
VettedClean exists to help readers make cleaner choices without panic. This policy spells out the rules we hold ourselves to.
Accuracy
Every claim on the site is sourced. Health and toxicity claims are backed by third-party certifications (NSF, Made Safe, EWG, GreenGuard), peer-reviewed research, regulatory documents, or manufacturer testing pages clearly labeled as such. Quality, durability, and material framing references manufacturer specifications, third-party certifications, and the published properties of the materials involved.
VettedClean does not test, own, or use products. We are an information aggregator: we read the disclosures and translate them into plain language. We do not make first-person quality claims about how a pan cooks or how a filter feels in a kitchen, because we have not personally cooked on it or installed it. Where comparative judgments appear ("ceramic coatings have shorter service life than stainless under repeated thermal cycling"), they are based on the material-property literature, not personal observation.
Independence
VettedClean is independently owned and operated. No payment, gift, or sponsored content of any kind buys a favorable framing or a "best of" placement. Top picks are selected based on third-party certification, materials transparency, and citation availability — before affiliate links are checked. The editorial decision is made first, the commercial layer is added second.
Corrections
Corrections are noted at the bottom of the affected article with a date and a short summary of what changed. Material corrections — anything that changes a recommendation, certification, or safety-relevant claim — also trigger an updated "last verified" date in the article header so the change is visible above the fold.
Review cadence
Cornerstone "best of" articles are re-verified at least every 90 days against current third-party certifications and manufacturer disclosures. Single-product write-ups are revisited at least annually, or sooner when a manufacturer materially changes the product (formulation, materials, certification status).
