Our take
All-Clad D3 is the canonical American stainless. Three-ply construction (18/10 stainless interior + pure aluminum core + 18/10 stainless exterior) bonded the full height of the pan, manufactured in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania per the brand. The full-wall bonding distinguishes D3 from cookware where only the base is multi-clad. Note on induction: D3 is austenitic 18/10 throughout, which is non-magnetic and therefore NOT induction-compatible — for induction, the All-Clad D5 and D7 lines add a magnetic outer layer. The V-shape handle is the most-cited ergonomic critique across published reviews.
